Du Fermier is a wonderful French farmhouse style kitchen created by renown chef Annie Smithers. Eating at du Fermier is a little like being invited to eat at someone's home. You will not find a large array of choices, but a small collection of fresh, beautiful seasonal delights. Each week Annie creates a seasonal menu du jour. You are advised to book well ahead of time.

Cosmopolitan Hotel, fondly referred to as the ‘Cosmo’ at 21 High Street

Built around 1866, The Cosmopolitan serves exceptional food and wine and has sweeping weatherboard verandahs, a magnificent beer garden/al fresco dining area shaded by century old elms, restored historic stables converted to a function centre/wedding venue and accommodation in the recently restored adjoining cottage.

Hotel Trentham

A part of the community since 1026, Hotel Trentham opened its doors again on 10th January 2024 following extensive renovation and refurbishment. The Hotel and bottle shop is open every day of the year with meals served in the Bistro, Bar and Beer Garden.

Pig & Whistle Hotel

Originally opened in 1887 as the Clare Morris Hotel, the hotel embraced its evolving identity, becoming the ‘Pig’ in 1960 and stands as a testament to the resilience and adaptability of this extraordinary community. Quarry Street Reserve

Trentham Lake Villas overlook the Quarry Street Reserve. Just a short walk over the red bridge lies Trentham’s main street with its shops and eateries. Wander around the lake, have a BBQ in the Pavilion or sit and watch the birdlife from one of the many vantage points.

Trentham Falls

Trentham Falls is one of the longest single drop waterfalls in Victoria, plunging some 32 metres over basalt columns. The Falls Reserve protects one of the best remnants of original vegetation in the area, with stands of manna gum, messmate, stringybark and narrow-leaved peppermint. The reserve is ideal for picnics or barbecues, with picnic tables, fireplaces and toilets provided for visitors

Garden of St Erth

The Garden of St Erth in the small nearby town of Blackwood is nestled between the Wombat State Forest and the Lerderderg State Park. Its run by Australia's biggest gardening club - the Diggers Club with 3000 varieties of plants Stroll through the gorgeous and inspirational gardens, stock up on rare heirloom plants then head to the café for a cuppa with scones or indulge in a leisurely lunch. The garden is absolutely delightful, enchanting, uplifting and serene.

Domino Trail Walking Track

The Domino Trail is an easy 8km walk following the old railway line from the Trentham heritage listed railway station (no longer in use) into the Wombat Forest to Lyonville. Many walk the trail to have lunch at Lyonville’s Radio Springs Hotel

Trentham Golf Club

54 Falls Road, Trentham
Easy to walk and with some of the best greens in Victoria, Trentham was voted by Golf Australia magazine as one of the best-value, quality courses in Australia. Trentham is a hidden gem. Lush playing surfaces, including the best greens in the region, are flanked by mature native trees, while the topography presents enough variation to offer a superb mix of holes.

The Wombat State Forest and Lerderderg State Park

The 75,000-hectare Wombat State Forest lies to the South of the town, and offers many activities including camping, bushwalking, mountain-bike riding, horse riding, four-wheel-driving and trailbike riding. The rugged Lerderderg Gorge runs North-South through the forest area, and there are many walking trails, including the heritage trail along the Lerderderg River and the Domino Trail between Trentham and Lyonville.
